Tequesta has a quaint small town feel.  It was best known for its marinas, the Jupiter Lighthouse, and the Jupiter Island condos that are actually in Tequesta and overlook the Intracoastal and border the Atlantic Ocean.

Tequesta homes have a little bit of paradise.  Most people seem to have come to Tequesta because they want to.  Tequesta has the talent, the economic resources, the natural setting, and heritage.  Tequesta began in 1957, the year it received its Municipal Charter.  It is a fine little town which has the ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, many golf course, shopping centers, beautiful homes and condominiums and best of all, not too many people.  It’s why residents like to keep the name, Village of Tequesta.  Real estate developer, Charlie Martyn founded the sequestered Jupiter Inlet Colony.  Martyn put together the JIB (Jupiter Island Bridge Project) connecting Jupiter Island to Tequesta.  The golf course opened in 1957 and many have followed from Turtle Creek to Jupiter Hills.  The name Tequesta came from a strong Indian Tribe of South Florida who encroached the nomadic Jeagas inhabiting they are at that time.

Most of the 6,000 residents are on the mainland but a small stretch of Tequesta has the Atlantic Ocean as its backyard.  Coral Cove Park is also a Tequesta address in Palm Beach County.  Natural limestone rock formations let snorkelers see wondrous underwater visuals when the conditions are right.  Besides the incredible scenery where many a family photo has been taken upon the rocks, is great surfing in the wintertime.  On the Intracroastal side, boats dock during weekends and family have great fun in the shallow water.  Upon the Jupiter Island Bridge overlooking the historic Jupiter Lighthouse is great snook fishing.

Weather you’d like to live in a high-rise or single family home, Tequesta real estate for sale offers a natural habitat and peacefulness in the tropics for everyone.
