Echo Fine Properties are hoping a staple food will alleviate at least one worry, even if it’s temporary. for those hurricane Ian survivors. The goal is five-thousand peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for victims of hurricane Ian over on the west coast.

The wonder bread man himself, Chris Burke, even made an appearance! “It’s been a very, very busy morning. we’ve gone through about 2000 loaves >> we’re still going and the guys have been going at it for about 3 hours now.  I think it’s just the helping more anything. I’d like to believe that our colleagues over on the west coast would do the exact same thing for us and it’s just people helping people. and so we do here at Echo and as humanitarians. that’s what we do.

Jeff Lichtenstein is the organizer, he’s been over to Fort Myers and delivered a load of sandwiches already. “It’s worse than you think it is over there, and because a lot of people lost their jobs and homes at the same time. so they’re dealing with their own their home issues and the mold issues in the house and the roof issues…then they need meals that they don’t have the income for, so one of the sandwiches is providing a meal for somebody. It’s 450 calories and it’s comfort food”
