Exciting NEW Neighborhood coming to Palm City – Newfield Homes

Exciting NEW Neighborhood coming to Palm City – Newfield Homes

An exciting new community is coming to the Treasure Coast of Martin County and is to be named Newfield. Newfield is the vision of Knight Kiplinger whose family has owned the land for decades and who has been trying to get permission for a master planned community for the last 4 years. That permission has been granted so its full steam ahead on the land previously called Pineland Prairie.

Knight Kiplinger’s vision is a big one and will fill a much-needed hole in the property needs of many. With prices forever rising it can be tricky for many to think about purchasing a home, that’s where Newfield will fill the gap. The vision is to build more houses with an affordable price, something that appeals to empty nesters or young families, homes that key workers can afford to invest in. It is also going to feature more homes on manageable lots instead of large homes that gobble up lots of land therefore allowing more homes to be built to provide a need for the area. With a range of homes that include single family, townhomes, and condos there will be something to suit everyone in smaller villages throughout Newfield.

Newfield is not just going to be a neighborhood filled with homes (4000+ home sites) but there will be a strong emphasis on preserving the area allowing 70% of the community to be open and dedicated to parks, natural areas, and even a farm. Some of the important issues that came up were preserving the natural lands, protecting the waters of the St Lucie River, whilst also maintaining the agricultural vitality of the area. All these needs have been met and developers will spend time making sure the area is not only environmentally friendly but also aesthetically pleasing. The open spaces will comprise of unspoiled woods and wetlands, pasture for horses and cattle, facilities for equestrian activities, trails for biking, hiking and horses, ball fields and playgrounds, fields and groves for farming, numerous parks and promenades and a working farm totaling 70 acres.

The town center will add a flare to the neighborhood and will become Palm City’s first downtown area. With 150,000 square feet of retail space the town will accommodate such stores as Publix, and Trader Joes, along with a farmers’ market (with fresh produce from the working farm), restaurants, and many locally owned shops. Office space will also take up around 140,000 square feet with a mixture of units from small offices to entire buildings. Local schools will be integrated into the area which makes this a great place for families with children. Plans for the future also include a light-industrial estate perfect for small businesses and with great access to highways it’s a perfect location.

Although Newfield will take years to be fully complete it will bring new life into Martin County and Palm City. It will open up a need for affordable housing and bring with it hundreds of jobs through the town center, farms, and office use. Knight Kiplinger’s vision will come and is definitely one to keep an eye on.
